Import your suppliers' price lists and match them against your own articles, so cost and recommended prices update without retyping.
Supplier price lists takes in the files you receive from your suppliers and sets each row against the articles you already hold. Cost price and recommended price are updated from the imported list, instead of someone sitting and transferring figures out of a spreadsheet. After the import you can see what found its counterpart in your range and what was left over. The leftovers are often the most interesting part: new items at the supplier, discontinued part numbers and things that change name between seasons. All of it works against the range you already keep in BikeOffice and needs no new way of running your stock.
A price list that arrives in spring and gets imported in autumn means the whole season was sold on last year's margin. That is rarely a deliberate decision, just the consequence of the import being a dull job that can always wait another week. The effect does not show at the till but in the year-end accounts, when the gross margin turns out lower than it should be. The easier the import is, the more often it actually happens.
You import the list your supplier sent and it is held up against your own range. Where a counterpart exists, cost price and recommended price are updated; where none exists, the difference is shown to you. Nobody has to open the spreadsheet and look articles up one at a time. The difference from doing it by hand is not only the time it takes, but that typing errors and skipped rows disappear along the way.
When the cost price is current you can see what an article actually contributes, and when it is not, you are guessing. The supplier's recommended price is at the same time a useful reference point when setting your own. With both kept up to date, pricing becomes a decision you make rather than something left over from the previous list. It shows most on spare parts, where the range is large and nobody has time to work through it item by item.
